Bambu Lab Maintenance Guide
P1S, X1C, and P2S share the same core maintenance needs — the AMS and the enclosed chamber are what set this family apart from most other printers.

The AMS is the maintenance item most printers don't have
The Automatic Material System keeps multiple spools loaded and switches between them, but that convenience comes with its own upkeep: the desiccant needs monitoring (most AMS units show a color-change indicator), and the feed path can jam or grind filament if a spool tangles or a filament end isn't cleanly cut. Keeping hygroscopic filaments (nylon, PETG, TPU) in the AMS with fresh desiccant matters more here than on a printer where you load filament by hand right before a print.
The enclosed chamber changes what "safe to print" means
P1S, X1C, and P2S are fully or mostly enclosed, which is what makes them capable of printing ABS and ASA reliably without the warping open-frame printers usually fight — but it also means chamber temperature climbs during long prints, and electronics/belts rated for a cooler open-frame environment need to actually be rated for that heat. Stick to the materials Bambu's own profiles support for enclosed printing, and don't assume every filament brand's "ABS" behaves identically inside the chamber.
Auto-calibration reduces manual tuning, but doesn't eliminate mechanical wear
Vibration compensation and flow calibration run automatically before many prints, which papers over a lot of the manual first-layer and resonance tuning older printers require — but that calibration compensates for the printer's current mechanical state, it doesn't fix a worn nozzle or a loose belt. If print quality is degrading despite calibration running normally, treat it as a sign to check the nozzle and belts directly rather than assuming the software will compensate indefinitely.
